Do you love Mahjong? I do! I've been playing for four years, and along the way, I've cracked the code on how to make this wonderfully fun (but sometimes intimidating!) game easier to learn. My approach is simple: Start with the tiles, not the rules. First, we'll learn what the tiles are called, what they mean, and how to match the 14 tiles on your rack to a winning hand on the Mahjong card. Once you understand the goal, everything else starts to fall into place. Instead of overwhelming you with rules about the Charleston, the chronological penalty, or when a turn officially begins, I introduce those details naturally as we play. Suddenly, rules that once seemed confusing actually make sense! My goal is to take the intimidation out of Mahjong so you can relax, build confidence, and discover just how much fun this game can be. Less memorizing. More playing. And a lot more fun!

I love introducing people to the game of Mahjong! Having taught many new players, I enjoy making the game approachable, easy to understand, and fun for everyone. Whether you're completely new to Mahjong or looking to build your confidence and sharpen your skills, my lessons offer a relaxed environment where you can learn, practice, and enjoy the game.

I offer private, in-home violin, cello, and piano instruction for students of all ages and skill levels, from preschool children and first-time beginners to advanced students and adults. Whether you're discovering an instrument for the first time or looking to refine your technique and musical expression, I tailor each lesson to your individual abilities, interests, and goals. In addition to private instruction, I provide music consultation and coordination for weddings and special events. I help couples select and arrange music that reflects their personal style and makes their celebration memorable. I also offer customized lessons for brides and grooms who would like to perform together during their wedding ceremony. My Musical Background Music has been a lifelong passion. I began studying violin and piano at the age of five at the National School of Music "Dobri Hristov" in Varna, Bulgaria. By middle and high school, I was performing as a soloist and participating in chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras throughout Bulgaria. In 2005, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, Bulgaria, where I studied under internationally renowned violinist Professor Elisaveta Kazakova. That same year, I received a graduate assistantship at Southeastern Louisiana University, where I continued my violin studies with Dr. Yakov Voldman. During my graduate studies, I performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician and was a member of the LSU Chamber Orchestra. In 2008, I earned my Master's degree in Violin Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University. I also hold a Louisiana teaching certificate in Instrumental Music for grades K–12. I love sharing my passion for music with students of all ages and helping each person develop the skills, confidence, and appreciation that make learning an instrument a rewarding lifelong experience.

I have been practicing yoga since 2009, and over the years I have experienced just how powerful a regular practice can be. Yoga helped ease my back pain, improved my sleep by reducing my snoring, and gave me a greater sense of balance both on and off the mat. Those personal experiences inspired me to become an instructor so I can help others discover those same benefits.

I’m Raeleen “Rae” Gutierrez, a former LSU softball player with 20 years of experience playing the game. I take what I’ve learned throughout my career and bring it into how I coach today. I believe in building a strong foundation by making the small things a routine. When those fundamentals become second nature, athletes can build confidence, learn more, take on new challenges, and continue growing their game. My goal is to help each athlete become a smarter, more confident, and more competitive softball player!
